Maha Deputy CM Shinde Welcomes Thackeray’s ‘Return To Hindutva’
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has welcomed his former leader Uddhav Thackeray's "radical change" in the form of his supposed 'return to Hindutva', on Wednesday.
Outgoing Vice President Hamid Ansari on Thursday advocated for restraint on hasty legislation and stressed that the Rajya Sabha was a creation of Constitution that portrays Indian diversity.
“Rajya Sabha a creation of Constitution that portrays Indian diversity; need for restraint on hasty legislation,” the Chairman of the Upper House said in his farewell speech.

“RS upholds democracy's sacred creed that debate is not a stumbling block, but an indispensable preliminary to wise action,” he added.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked Ansari for his “distinguished years in public service” while the other members lauded his role in upholding the Constitution.
Ansari, 80, a former career diplomat has had two terms as Vice-President and will be demitting office on Thursday. BJP leader and former Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu will become the 13th Vice-President of India.
