Maruti Suzuki India gears up to launch its first EV with 500-km range in Jan
Maruti Suzuki India on Tuesday said the automaker is geared up to launch its first electric vehicle (EV) with a range of 500 km per charge in January next year.
Auto component maker Subros on Thursday reopened its Manesar plant after a major fire incident in May last year.
"Subros Ltd today re-opened its Manesar plant after the fire incident which took place on May 29, 2016 severely impacting the building, plant and machinery, stocks and other assets," the company said in a BSE filing.
After the fire, one of the company's largest customers Maruti Suzuki India had announced that it was suspending production following disruption of supplies.

Subros provides airconditioning compressors to Maruti Suzuki. Subros' Manesar plant supplies over 90 per cent of its production to meet requirements of Maruti Suzuki.
The plant re-opening was graced by the presence of R C Bhargava, Chairman, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, K Ayukawa, Managing Director, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Y Iida, Senior Executive Director, Thermal Group from Denso Corporation, Japan and other senior dignitaries from Maruti Suzuki and Denso, Subros said.
Shares of the company were trading 7.78 per cent higher at Rs.210.60 on the BSE.
