Heritage walk explores essence of ‘Mutt’ culture at abode of Lord Jagannath
The heritage walk started from the Kanchi Kamakoti Ashram and culminated at Sankarananda
World-famous Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra started from the magnificent temple in Odisha on Sunday amid tight security.
As the tradition goes, three wooden chariots were created for the yatra of the Gods — Lord Jagannath, along with his elder brother Balram and sister Subhadra — from the magnificent shrine.
The festival is celebrated on the second day of 'Shukla Paksha' of 'Ashadh', the third month, according to the traditional Oriya calendar.

One of the significance of the Yatra is that, unlike other days, people from all religions and faiths can see the deities and participate in the procession.
