Punjab govt should hand over Shanan Power Project to Himachal: CM
He said this during his visit to the historic 110 MW Shanan Power House at Jogindernagar in the Mandi district on Friday.
Punjab government will bear the medical expenses of noted Punjabi playwright Ajmer Singh Aulakh. The state government has asked a private hospital to divert Aulakh's medical bills to state's exchequer on Friday. Disclosing this in a press communique, Punjab health minister Brahm Mohindra said the Punjab government had earlier made it clear that the medical expenses of the ailing eminent Punjabi playwright would be borne by the state government.
He said that Ajmer Singh Aulakh is eminent Punjabi playwright and litterateur who is suffering from cancer and now he is recuperating from his illness. He said that Chief Minister(CM) Amarinder Singh soon after hearing the condition of Aulakh, announced the financial assistance for his treatment.
He said that he had visited the hospital to enquire about the playwright's health and announced that all medical expenses for the treatment would be paid by Punjab government. Mohindra said that the he has already brought it to the notice of CM that a inflated bill has been raised by the hospital authorities and with his intervention the hospital authorities has waived off the outstanding bill. Government's disclosure came after media reports mentioning about Aulakh's inflated medical treatment's bill.

Pertinently, the noted Punjabi theatre personality Ajmer Singh Aulakh dedicated his entire life for the promotion of theatre and his rare literary works mostly highlighted the circumstances, tiring situations and hardships faced by the oppressed sections of the society.
