Kane Williamson to miss Mumbai Test as well
New Zealand have taken a “cautious approach” with Kane Williamson by ruling out the star batter from the side’s third and final Test against India in Mumbai, starting November 1.
Williamson revealed that he wishes to hit the ball wildly like devastating batsman Gayle.
With a text-book style of classical cricket, New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson has always delighted his fans. However, the 26-year-old revealed that he wishes to hit the ball wildly like devastating batsman Chris Gayle.
“I wish I could smack a few like Chris Gayle (laughs), but unfortunately not to be,” Williamson told ‘iplt20’ after scoring a match-winning 89-run knock against Delhi Daredevils on Wednesday.

Hailing the West Indian, who recently became the first cricketer to score 10,000 runs in T20 cricket, Williamson added: “I think it is about adapting to the best of your abilities and playing around with your strong points. There are some incredible players that can whack it 120 meters. I do practice hard in the nets to hit the ball long, but probably it is not in my genetic make-up to do that. So, I try and find a different way, something similar to the knock I played tonight.”

Williamson didn’t hesitate even a bit on his season’s first match as his 51-ball knock was well decorated by five sixes and six boundaries.
The New Zealander added that he wasn’t under any pressure on making his first appearance in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s sixth match.
Williamson’s inspiring knock was well-supported by Shikhar Dhawan’s 70 runs and local boy Mohammed Siraj’s two dismissals that led SRH beat Delhi Daredevils by 15 runs.
