Many colleges, institutions affiliated to the Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla are yet to provide information revealed the progress report of All India Survey of Higher Education (AISHE).
In press release issued on Wednesday, AISHE, Nodal Officer Joginder Singh Dhiman said that the information was to be provided to portray the status of higher education in the country under the Ministry of Human Resource Development’s endeavour to conduct an annual web-based All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) since 2010-11.
The progress report of AISHE portal reveals that many of the colleges, institutes affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla have not yet uploaded the data on the AISHE portal, he added.
The survey covers all the institutions in the country engaged in imparting of higher education and the Data is being collected on several parameters such as teachers, student enrolment, programmes, examination results, education finance, and infrastructure, he added.
Indicators of educational development, such as Institution Density, Gross Enrolment Ratio, Pupil-teacher ratio, Gender Parity Index, Per Student Expenditure will also be calculated from the data collected through AISHE.
He disclosed that these are useful in making informed policy decisions and research for development of education sector.
The process of collecting information, data for the survey for the years 2016-17 is in progress and the final deadline date by the government of India for uploading the information pertaining to your institute in the form of DCF-II in the web portal of AISHE has been set as 13 April, 2017.
He has asked all the Principals of the Colleges are hereby requested to complete the task of uploading the Data Capture Form (DCF)-II and III well before the last date through the Nodal Officers of the college, institute appointed by them.
