Brighton sign Valentin Barco from Boca Juniors

Rodrigo Bentancur has completed his medical this afternoon ahead of a proposed move to Juventus from Boca Juniors, according to a statement on the club website.

The transfer is part of an agreement struck between Juventus and Boca when Carlos Tevez returned to the Argentine club in June 2015, according to reports.

The 19-year-old Uruguay under-20 playmaker is considered one of the brightest talents in South American football and his transfer is in sync with Juve’s policy of snapping up precious talents from the continent fairly early before their transfer fees go sky high. A versatile player capable of adjusting to several formations, the six-foot-one midfielder has a bright future ahead of him, according to several youth coaches and scouts.
He made his first team debut for Boca Juniors in 2015 and has since represented the Buenos Aires club 44 times. Bentancur has plenty of South American teammates to make him feel at home.
