Sixteen foreigners were arrested in Pakistan’s Balochistan province for illegally trying to cross the country’s border into Iran, authorities said on Tuesday.
The foreigners — 15 Nigerians and one Yemeni national — were en route to Europe via Iran, but were arrested on Monday night on a tip-off, reports Xinhua news agency.
The security forces also detained two armed local men in the operation conducted in Turbat district.
Monday’s incident comes a day after the police arrested a drug trafficker from Punjab province who was accused of sending people to Europe illegally.
