Khan was accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood, was seen off at New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UN, Maleeha Lodhi, The News International reported.

Earlier this month, Imran Khan and his delegation had departed from New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport on the special jet given by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, during the prime minister’s visit to Saudi Arabia earlier this month.

However, the aircraft turned back and made an emergency landing at the New York airport after a technical glitch developed.

Pakistan’s envoy to the UN, Maleeha Lodhi, who had earlier seen off Imran Khan, rushed back to the airport.

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Naeemul Haque had also confirmed the technical fault and had announced at the time that the prime minister would be spending the night back at the hotel in New York, Dawn news reported.
