Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan issued directives to allow PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz to stay with her ailing father, former premier Nawaz Sharif in the same hospital in Lahore, according to Punjab province Governor Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar on Thursday.

Sarwar said that Khan had sought a briefing on Maryam and Sharif’s health after which he issued directives to the Punjab government to fulfil legal requirements to shift her to the Services Hospital with the former Prime Minister. Geo News reported.

According to sources, Khan also spoke to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and directed him to make arrangements for Maryam’s stay with her father.

Earlier on Thursday, Maryam was shifted back to Kot Lakhpath jail after undergoing a few medical tests. The PML-N leader was released on parole by the Punjab government on Wednesday to see her father, according to ANI report.

Earlier, Maryam had claimed that she was denied the permission for the same, Samma TV reported.

Late on Monday this week, Sharif was admitted to the hospital after his health condition deteriorated.

Earlier this month, the National Accountability Bureau had issued arrest warrants against Nawaz Sharif in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case and was likely to present him before an accountability court.

Sharif has been serving a seven-year imprisonment in Al-Azizia Mills corruption case. NAB has already arrested his daughter Maryam Nawaz and nephew Yousuf Abbas in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. Both of them are on judicial remand till Oct 23.

In August, two government hospitals had denied a specialised cardiac ambulance facility for emergency medical cover to Nawaz Sharif in the Central Jail.
