Darjeeling MP Raju Bista today demanded the suspension of state government and imposing of President’s Rule in West Bengal.
Speaking to the reporters at Bagdogra Airport today, on the issue of Sandeshkhali, Darjeeling MP Bista said, “Only solution is to impose President’s Rule in West Bengal. As long as the Governor of West Bengal will delay in President’s Rule, sufferings of women and the people will increase in this state. To stop torture and injustice against women, only method is to impose President’s Rule.”
“If the Governor of West Bengal recommends for President’s Rule in the state ahead of Lok Sabha Polls, I think, 10 crore people will extend support to the BJP happily,” Mr Bista claimed.
Reacting to an agitation led by Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) chief Anit Thapa and his party Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha (BGPM) on the issue of tribal status for 11 left out sub-castes in the Hills, Mr Bista said, “They trying to divert the attention of the people from their failures. The budget session has ended but the central government is still functioning. Our government is working seriously on the Hill issues.”
“I would request them not to do politics on the issue of Gorkhas’ identity. Being an MP I am still fighting and I will be fighting for them,” he added.
On the other hand, Nisith Pramanik said, “I cannot understand why chief minister Mamata Banerjee, being a woman leader, is still silent on the issue of Sandeshkhali, where women have been tortured by her party leaders.”
