Jewar Airport likely to commence operations by September

The long-awaited Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) at Jewar in Greater Noida is expected to commence operations by September 2024.

While delivering a presentation to Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra here on Friday, Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Airport Dr Arun Veer Singh disclosed that the Zurich Airport’s subsidiary, Yamuna International Airport Pvt. Ltd., has done the development work of the terminal building, ATC and runway. Besides, the airport’s development, in accordance with the project’s plan, was carried out by the EPC contractor, Tata Projects.

Singh informed that the work at the Jewar Airport will be completed by September 2024.

NIAL officials informed that the installation of navigation and surveillance equipment at the airport has started and the connectivity of the Jewar Airport with the Yamuna Expressway will be completed by April 2024.

The meeting was attended by the Principal Secretary of Industrial Development, Secretary of Finance, Director of Civil Aviation, and the Nodal Officer of NIAL. The CEO of Noida and the CEO of Greater Noida participated via video conference.
