External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, on Saturday, met Ukraine Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict and discussed with him a number of issues, including the grain initiative and nuclear concerns.
The meeting between the two ministers came on the margins of the ASEAN-related events in Phnom Penh.
”Pleasure to meet FM @DmytroKuleba of Ukraine. Our discussions covered recent developments in the conflict, the grain initiative and nuclear concerns,” Jaishankar tweeted.
India has been trying to do a balancing act in the ongoing conflict. While it has not directly attacked Russia for its military action in Ukraine, India has repeatedly asked Moscow to find a diplomatic solution to the issue. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had firmly told Russian President Vladimir Putin on the margins of the SCO meet in Uzbekistan that this was not the era of war.
Jaishankar had recently visited Moscow and met the top leaders of the two countries, urging them once again to end its military offensive in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Jaishankar also met his counterparts from Canada, Singapore, Indonesia and some other countries on the sidelines of the ASEAN meet.
