The government today asked Indian nationals in Ukraine to consider leaving the country temporarily in view of mounting tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
In an advisory, the Indian Embassy in Kiev said that in view of the current situation, Indian nationals in Ukraine, particularly students whose stay was not considered essential, might consider leaving temporarily. Indian nationals were also advised to avoid all non-essential travel to and within Ukraine.
Indian nationals were also advised to keep the Indian embassy informed about the status of their presence in Ukraine to enable the mission to reach them when required.
The advisory said the embassy in Kiev continued to function normally to provide all services to Indian nationals in Ukraine.
Amid the tensions over a possible Russian invasion, several countries have already advised their citizens to leave Ukraine.
