At least eight Taliban militants were killed after Afghan Air Force struck a militant hideout in the country’s eastern province of Nangarhar, the Defence Ministry said on Tuesday.
The targeted hideout, southeast of Jalalabad city, was destroyed following the raid, the ministry said on Twitter.
Taliban militants have been using the den for planning and conducting terrorist attacks against security forces in the mountainous region.
The Afghan Army together with police and national intelligence agency have launched more than 6,000 military and cordon operations over the past six months, killing scores of militants and destroying nearly 500 militant strongholds and bunkers, the military said on Sunday.
