A moderate 5.8 magnitude earthquake hit Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday, days after a power tremor rocked Pok and other parts of the country.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, the epicentre of the quake was in the Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan, 157 kilometres below the surface of the earth.

Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) spokesman Taimur Ali said that the earthquake was felt in Peshawar, Malakand, Mardan, Charsadda, Swat and in the Hazara areas.

Ali said that no causalities were reported yet.

The PDMA was in contact with the district administration to collect details of damage that might have occurred, he added.

Last week, a 5.2-magnitude earthquake shook parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, sending people out of buildings and on to the streets.

The epicentre of the quake was in the Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan, according to data released by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Last month, a powerful earthquake jolted several parts of Pakistan, particularly Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The earthquake killed 40 people in the entire region and leftover 450 injured
