At least four members of the same family were killed in the city of San Padro Sula after gunmen opened fire at a funeral in Honduras late on Tuesday, according to police.

The victims were burying Marlon David Portillo, 27, the son of an alleged drug dealer known as the “Black Cat”, Xinhua News reported.

The father has been killed in 2010 in Tegucigalpa, along with six bodyguards. His son was killed on Sunday in San Pedro Sula.

Police said that at least eight armed men opened fire on an SUV at the local cemetery, that killed two men and two women, all members of the Portillo family. Three of them were cousins of the son.

Police closed streets in the city as they searched for the killers, who eyewitnesses said were dressed in military uniforms.
