Here’s a glimpse of a few of them that will beckon the soul of a traveller to come home to.

Hallstatt in Austria

Neatly designed and maintained, this is a truly pretty and stunningly beautiful lakeside village. Situated in the heart of Austria and surrounded by green hills all around, dotted with beautiful cottages and gardens, this magical place is steep in history and culture.

Situated in lowlands and surrounded by lush green hills, this Japanese village has similar looking houses with steep roof spread over. The region is said to receive the heaviest snowfall in the world, hence the houses are built to protect against the heavy snowfall.

The weather here is so fine and the beautiful village with brightly painted houses looks like a small paradise on earth. Its stunning landscape all around is a feast for the eyes.

Bibury in western England

This pretty and charming lush green village is famous for Cotswold stone cottages and its breathtaking unique landscape with the Coln River flowing through the village.  Pretty wild blooms and evergreen shrubs and trees all over add to the beauty of the village.

Mawlynnong in India

This is a small, yet exquisitely beautiful village in India’s Meghalaya state. About a 100 km from the capital Shillong, it was listed by Discover India in 2003 as the cleanest village in Asia. Small thatched roofs and bamboo huts dot the village.
