OnePlus recently confirmed the existence of OnePlus 5T in a tweet with an image of smartphone’s edge including 3.5mm headphone jack.
Now, on Monday, OnePlus has finally announced an event date for the launch of OnePlus 5T. The company is hosting an event in Brooklyn, New York on November 16 where we will finally see the phone.
The event teaser with a tag line “A New View” highlights edge-to-edge full-screen display, similar to Galaxy S8. If rumours are correct then, OnePlus 5T will feature a 6.01-inch full HD+ display with a 1080×2160 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio.
OnePlus tweet reads, “Guess which city we’re going to party in for the #OnePlus5T launch! [sic]” The tweet also features an image that shows the intersection of West 34th Street and Broadway, located in Manhattan, New York City. All this points to the New York City launch of the new OnePlus smartphone.
Recently, a press render image of OnePlus 5T had surfaced over web courtesy Evan Blass. Some reports say that OnePlus 5T is likely adopt the design of the OPPO R11s, since both companies are owned by Chinese multinational BBK Electronics and we have seen few OnePlus smartphones sharing similar design language.
For specifications, OnePlus 5T is rumored to feature a 6-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) 18:9 Optic AMOLED display. The front facing camera is expected to be 20MP shooter, but the rear dual-camera is expected to be same 16MP + 20MP shooter. Other than that, it is expected to pack same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC with 6GB and 8GB of RAM, just like the OnePlus 5.
