Digital Paytm Payments Bank Limited (PPBL) on Monday, announced that Paytm app users would now be able to send UPI payments to any mobile number using any UPI payment app, even if the recipient is not a Paytm customer.

With this, users of the Paytm app may immediately send and receive money from any cell phone number that has registered their UPI ID across payment apps. This escalates the compatibility of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) even more and lays the groundwork for the adoption of mobile payments.

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has made UPI payments interoperable by granting access to its global database to all suppliers of payment services.

This gives users the opportunity to take advantage of the interactivity that exists across all UPI-based payment apps, delivering an incredibly quick and seamless payment experience.

According to the latest report by NPCI, Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) continues to lead UPI payments as the largest beneficiary bank and a leading remitter bank.

How to send money to other UPI apps:

  2. Tap on ‘Enter Mobile No. of any UPI app’ and enter the mobile number of the recipient
