In order to prevent teenagers on Instagram and Facebook from online threats, Mark Zukerberg led Meta has implemented new privacy enhancements.
Facebook announced in a blog post that anyone under the age of 16, or under the age of 18 in some countries, will now automatically be placed in more private settings.
meta is also experimenting with ways to stop kids from messaging dubious adults they are not related to, so that the platform won’t list them in its People You May Know suggestions.
Additionally, it developed a number of methods for teenagers to alert the social media platform if anything about the applications causes them to feel uncomfortable.
Additionally, Meta is creating technologies to stop the online scalability of user-generated personal images. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the company are collaborating to create a global platform for teenagers who are concerned that intimate photographs they generated could be disseminated on open web platforms without their authorisation, according to the company.
Additionally, Meta is collaborating with Thorn and their NoFiltr brand to develop educational resources that will assist youngsters in lessening the shame and stigma associated with seeing personal photos.
Meta said, “We’ve been working closely with NCMEC, experts, academics, parents and victim advocates globally to help develop the platform and ensure it responds to the needs of teens so they can regain control of their content in these horrific situations,”
