The Huawei Consumer Business Group, India, unveiled its much awaited smartphone model, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, on Wednesday. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is powered by what Huawei claims its “densest and highest performing system on chip (SoC) to date” — the Kirin 980, which offers improved performance, better battery efficiency and a smoother user experience.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro comes with the first 40W Huawei Super Charger that can charge the phone’s long lasting 4200 mAh battery to 70% in 30 minutes, and the Matrix Camera System with Leica Ultra Wide Angle Lens that lets users capture wider and closer pictures from a distance of 2.5 cm.
Huawei has partnered with Dolby for a better mobile entertainment experience with moving audio. Huawei has also partnered with Microsoft to provide on-device translations using the Microsoft Translator app.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro price and availability
Priced Rs 69,990, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is available online exclusively on Amazon starting December 3 midnight for Amazon Prime members and December 4 midnight for regular customers.
Additionally, it will be available as part of a bundle along with the Sennheiser PXC 550 (Rs 29,990) for a special price of Rs 71,990, for the early bird customers.
As far as offline sale is concerned, Huawei Mate 20 Pro will come to Croma stores starting December 10, 2018. The bundle offer with Sennheiser PXC 550 will be available offline too at the same price of Rs 71,990 for early bird customers.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro features and specifications
Battery: The Huawei Mate 20 Pro claims to feature a groundbreaking improvement on battery life. It has a large, high-density 4200mAh battery, and supports 40W HUAWEI SuperCharge, which gives the device 70 per cent charge in 30 minutes. The safety of the technology is certified by TÜV Rheinland.
It supports 15W HUAWEI Wireless Quick Charge, the industry’s fastest wireless charging solution, and Wireless Reverse Charge, which enables the device to work as a power bank for selected electronic devices supporting wireless charging.
Camera: Building on the HUAWEI P20 Series’ camera system, Huawei Mate 20 Pro has been augmented with a powerful addition — 16mm Leica Ultra Wide Angle Lens. This gives a three dimensional effect to the images. The new camera system also supports macro distance, producing crisp images of objects placed as close as 2.5 cm from the lens. The phone also has added ultra-wide angle lens and macro support. It has a 40MP main camera, a 20MP ultra wideangle camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera.
Operating system: The HUAWEI Mate 20 Series comes with EMUI 9.0, a smart operating system based on Android P.
Design: The Huawei Mate 20 Pro’s 6.39-inch curved AMOLED has a chassis that is curved on all eight sides. The Matrix Camera array on the back features a four-point design with the three cameras and sensor encircled in a polished metal frame. The flagship series comes in a new Emerald Green color.
