HP launches ‘world’s most powerful detachable PC’ for creative professionals


HP has launched “world’s first detachable workstation” the HP ZBook x2 tablet with 4K display at $1,749.

“Introducing the world’s most powerful detachable PC, with remarkable performance and versatility to push your favorite Adobe applications to the limit,” notes HP.

The HP ZBook x2 tablet supports laptop-mode where users can utilise the integrated 160-degree stand and full-sized keyboard, says HP. It boasts of a 14-inch anti-glare 4K LED touch screen with a screen resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. It features a built-in kickstand, and there is a detachable backlit keyboard as well. The tablet can be docked to the display via the HP ZBook Dock with Thunderbolt 32.

The ZBook x2 tablet comes in 128GB, 256GB, 512MB, and 1TB SSD SKUs. It will be available in quad-core Intel Core i7 or i5 processors options with up to 32GB RAM. It also features NVIDIA Quadro GPU options within tablet.

The HP ZBook x2 claims to offer up to 10 hours of battery life and supports fast charging. Other ZBook x2 tablet features include military standard MIL-STD 810G certification, an 8MP rear camera, HD front camera and a fingerprint scanner.

The HP ZBook x2 has an aluminum and magnesium chassis. HP says that the tablet’s standalone weight is 1.6kg and is 14.6mm thick, while in laptop mode it becomes 2.2kg and 20.3mm.
