Google extended its smart speaker lineup at Pixel 2 launch event in San Francisco on Wednesday. The company introduced two new smart Wi-Fi enabled smart Bluetooth speakers in the Google Home family, dubbed Google Home Mini and Google Home Max.
The Google Home Mini is essentially a smaller speaker meant to be used in close space like rooms etc. Google says it is as good as Google Home and comes with full power unleashed from Google Assistant.
Google Home Mini, the compact version of Google Home, allows users to talk to the Google Assistant for things like checking notifications, stream music, check calendar, search anything over internet, control your smart home, and much more.
For design, the Google Home Mini sports the similar fabric speaker grill at the top and a solid-plastic bottom base like the original Google Home, but seems like Google’s answer to Amazon’s Echo Dot.
Coming to Google Home Max, it is a much larger premium smart speaker. Google says it is 20 times more powerful than the Google Home speaker. It sports dual 4.5-inch high-excursion woofers and custom-made 0.7-inch tweeters.
The Google Home Max is first ever speaker from Google that comes with Smart Sound. The company says that it can automatically adjusts volume levels according to user need like bigger room, surrounding noise, larger distance etc. with its in-built artificial intelligence.
