Many users are allegedly seeing a “could not reach” error message while adding smart home devices to the Google Home application.
Users are unable to add additional devices as a result, which prevents the process from concluding, according to 9To5Google.
The Home application may operate hundreds of third-party devices created by other company in addition to Google-owned goods like the most recent Nest Cam and Nest Thermostat.
Normally, adding devices involves connecting an account to another service, but at the moment, that process seems broken.
The tech giant apparently started making more UI changes earlier this month as the Home application ramped up preview testing for its significant revamp, but it also seemed to be breaking certain old Assistant routines for some users.
In contrast to the drop-down settings on the previous page, which only enabled users to change the on or off settings for each light or switch in their home, the new page enables routines to handle a variety of characteristics for each device.
