Chinese Topwise Communication’s smartphone brand ‘Comio’ is all set to expand its budget portfolio with two new budget smartphones, primarily targeted towards younger consumers, under Rs. 8,000 in India.
While, the company has already sent out invites for the February 15 with a tagline “Hum Youth Ko Lite Nahi Lete”, suggesting the same, we at TheStatesman.com have also got hold of a little extra information from the company sources.
According to the source, the upcoming two Comio smartphones will have 13MP cameras with 32GB internal storage and will be priced under Rs. 8,000. Also, the one of the Comio smartphone will launch in three colours – all black, white & blue, and white & gold (as you can see in above image).
Comio brand comes from one of the biggest original device maker (ODM) in China. We have recently reviewed their Comio C2 and found its quality to be very premium for a low-budget smartphone.

Founded in June 2005, the manufacturer is known to make products for many Indian handset makers, including leading brand Micromax. China-based Topwise Communication made its entry into the Indian smartphone marke (and sold over 20,000 phones in less than 2 weeks) with the launch of Comio S1 and a couple of mobiles last year. It recently appointed Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, who previously served Intex Technologies, Akai’s mobile phone division, and Zen Mobile, as the Comio CEO and director for the Indian market.
The company is increasing its dealership network strength by 40,000 retailers in total by April. As of now, Comio has over 20,000 dealers on board, and will add 20,000 more by April.
“We already have 20,000 retailers on board and this will be doubled by April. We are also talking to large format retailers (LFRs) to expand coverage in the Indian market. This will be important as we go pan-India,” said Sanjay Kumar Kalirona.
