Apple on Tuesday officially announced the 5th generation of their watch, Apple Watch Series 5.

The latest model is similar to Series 4 watches, with the same size and design. The one thing that would attract people to buy the Series 5 watch is its ‘always-on display’ option. So, now you can see the time without having to move your wrist, a welcome step by the apple users across the globe.

Apple claims that the new series maintains the prior model’s 18-hour battery life, even with their ‘always-on display’ option, credit goes to their new low-temperature polysilicon and oxide display and low-power display driver. Apart from that, watch face and workouts have been redesigned as per the newly launched model design. The screen will be in low-brightness mode until you move your wrist, where it will notch up the brightness in a similar way to how the present model works.

In addition to this, the company has introduced the Series 5 in recycled aluminium and appended a titanium finish. However, the prior models are also available at low cost in the lineup. Apple says that this year it is offering the widest range of option in Apple Watch.

There are several other new features that Apple is offering, it includes a built-in compass and emergency calling for international countries. Interestingly, Apple did not announce its first-party sleep tracking in the new model, something which was expected on the basis of the rumours.

The Series 5 watches are available for booking starting from today and the product will hit the stores on September 20. The pricing of the Series 5 begins at $399 for the GPS model, whereas the cellular model starts at $499.
