Online training: Make yourself stand out

‘Ihad no prior knowledge of website development but had always been curious to learn how a website worked. So, I researched online and found an online training which taught about website development. Its content seemed interesting and so I enrolled for it. The quizzes and coding challenges along the way made this learning journey quite interesting. I ended up learning much more than I had expected.

Immediately after I completed the training, I began my search for relevant internships because I was eager to work on live projects. I applied to an internship with a start-up and shared the link to the e-commerce website I had built as a part of the training in my application and within a week, I received an email stating that I had been shortlisted.

I was then given a task wherein I had to design a homepage for their website with a header followed by a photo carousel, services, and other details. I put everything I had learned during the training to use and got hired after an interview. Now, I am working as a front-end developer with them. My responsibilities include developing various blogs and websites for the organisation and testing them for speed and performance. I also work on their SEO plans, meta tags, and WordPress plugins.”

This is what Sanya Singh, a student of Northern India Engineering College, has to say about how an online training helped her embark a professional career.

Every year, lakhs of students graduate but most of them are not able to get a job or an internship. It might be due to lack of skills or lack of knowledge about the subject. To help solve this problem, it is quintessential to make yourself stand out from the rest and one can do that with the help of online training at a very affordable price.

To help one understand how online training can make the difference, here are listed the perks it offers.

In-depth knowledge: Online training is designed for the masses. Hence, the training is broken down into several segments and covers the basics quite well. The entire training will have tests and assignments to provide with an in-depth knowledge. At times, one’s syllabus might not be updated with latest developments in one’s field of study but online trainings help learn the latest technologies. Also, one will be put to the final test by completing a project at the end of the training.

Live experience: Online training would give you an opportunity to test all that one has learned into live situations; academically and professionally. It will help instil confidence to change one’s approach as per the objective rather than the conventional approach. The project which is to be done as a part of the online training will help apply the theories on to real-life situations. For instance, one could make a new website for one’s college or an exam-bank app for one’s batch mates as a part of the project. One can get hands-on experience through these projects.

Opportunity to explore: School or college is a difficult stage for everyone. Either one is at a loss about which field to pursue graduation in. Even if that is figured out, one might lose interest in it with time. Online training can help solve that problem. The duration of the training range from four to six weeks and it will help understand where ones interest lies.

Before one starts looking for opportunities to work, it is essential to establish if one is interested in a particular field of study and have a good knowledge of the subjects.

Having an online training in your resume would help leave an impact on the employer and increase confidence for the interview. In this time and day when the competition is so stiff, it is necessary to make yourself stand out. To bridge the gap between lacks of skills to being skilled and kickstarting one’s career, online training is the solution!
