La Liga giants Real Madrid’s manager Zinedine Zidane has recognised Red Bull Salzburg’s Erling Braut Haaland as someone who they could bid for in the January transfer window. Zidane is not impressed with summer signing Luka Jovic and is eyeing other options to aid Karim Benzema in the Real Madrid attack.

According to reports carried by Spanish media outlet Don Balon, Haaland is on top of the list of manager Zinedine Zidane. The Frenchman is of the opinion that Haaland is a good attacking option, given Real Madrid’s current form, and can only improve in the coming years.

The 19-year-old recently scored a brace in Red Bull Salzburg’s 3-2 defeat against Serie A giants Napoli and consequently equalled Benzema’s record of scoring in his first three UEFA Champions League games as a teen.

Haaland broke multiple records in this game. He became the first-ever player to score six goals in his first three UEFA Champions League games. He is also now the first teenager to net six goals in a Champions League season and has only played as many as three matches.

Haaland is the current top scorer of the UEFA Champions League season and is expected to score more goals with half of the group stage still left.

However, it remains to be seen if this transfer deal materialises.
