Money in the Bank (2019) has come to an end. The WWE’s event is a pay-per-view (PPV) professional event that took place on May 19, 2019 in Connecticut, USA. The tenth event under the Money in the Bank chronology saw Brock Lesnar, an unannounced entrant, win the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Lesnar’s victory came as a shock to many. The women’s title was won by Bayley.

The event caused immense debate and excitement on social media despite the internet streaming with news about the Game of Thrones‘s season finale.

The WWE Money in the Bank (PPV) featured a wild 20 minute stretch for the women’s division. Becky Lynch successfully defended her RAW women’s championship title against Lacey Evans. For some reason, she also decided to defend her SmackDown title against contender Charlotte Flair.

This caused Evans who was still recovering from her RAW defeat to interfere in the SmackDown title match and help Charlotte win the title. The two proceeded until Bayley entered the ring. What followed was that Flair was laid out by the ring post. Bayley who had just won the Money in the Bank title took on her opponent with one flying elbow and a three counts later was announced the new SmackDown women’s champion.

In other prominent matches, Kofi Kingston defeated Kevin Ownes to retain the WWE Championship while Seth Rollins defeated AJ Styles to retain the Universal Championship.

Why is the Money in the Bank show so important?

WWE’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view event centres around a match of the same name, in which multiple wrestlers use ladders to retrieve a briefcase hanging above the ring. The briefcase a contract that guarantees the winner a match for a world championship at any time within the next year.
