Wayne Rooney may have swapped the red of Manchester United for the blue of Everton, but it seems Manchester City fans haven’t forgotten the 31-year-old’s exploits against their club.

Rooney, who moved back to his boyhood club Everton in the summer after 13 trophy-laden years with Manchester United, scored the opener in the Toffee’s 1-1 draw with City on Monday night at the Etihad.

And after cupping his ears and celebrating in front of the home end, Rooney was subject to quite a bit of abuse, but the 31-year-old probably couldn’t hear it as he was mobbed by his teammates on reaching the milestone mark of 200 Premier League goals.

Rooney, who scored quite a few against United’s arch-rivals City while he was a Red Devil, is perhaps most famous for his overhead kick against them in 2011, a goal which is said to be the finest the Manchester Derby has ever witnessed.
