Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is raring to get back on the pitch and has ‘warned’ his manager, Jose Mourinho, to get ready for his return in an Instagram post.

The outspoken Swede, who suffered an ACL injury in April, is not expected to return to competitive football till the end of the year, but it didnt stop United from offering the 35-year-old a one-year contract extension in August.

In a recent interview with ESPN, Ibrahimovic had said, “Romelu Lukaku asked me for the No.9 jersey and I said yes”.

For those not in the know, the Swede had worn the No.9 jersey for the 2016-17 season but the club’s record signing (Lukaku) had been keen on the number and to the relief of all the club, Zlatan gave it up without a fight.

Considering the 11-year age gap between the duo, who coincidentally are managed by super agent Mino Raiola, it’s safe to assume the burly Belgian will be United’s No.1 striker for this season and the foreseeable future as well.

And in the same interview with ESPN, Zlatan had jokingly suggested that “I am not changing my number, I am upgrading from No.9 to No.10”.

And to drive his point home, Zlatan uploaded an image on his Instagram profile with the caption:
