Footballers in the Premier League are all multi-millionaires and while the debate rages on whether they justify the astronomical wages or not, Chelsea new boy Jorginho has shared a heartwarming video in which his mother is moved to tears upon seeing his jersey in the club’s store.

Proving that not all highly-paid athletes are the same, the Brazilian-born Italian’s post on Instagram has gone viral for all the right reasons:

The £58 million acquisition from Napoli has hit all the right notes in pre-season and is expected to play a key role in the Maurizio Sarri era at Chelsea this season.

The 26-year-old was coveted by most of Europe’s big clubs, including Manchester City, but the Blues beat them all to his signature to make him the marquee signing of their summer window.

And Jorginho will have an opportunity to show just what Pep Guardiola’s men missed out when the Blues take on the Sky Blues in the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium on Sunday night.

Despite not making a flurry of signings under Sarri, Chelsea fans are optimistic that the coming season will be a fruitful one as their new coach has promised to bring back beautiful football to Stamford Bridge.

City remain favourites for the Premier League title, however, while Chelsea and Liverpool are expected to give them a tougher fight than they did in the previous campaign.

What remains to be seen is how Sarri will manage the club’s Premier League ambitions with Thursday night football as they are participating in the UEFA Europa League this season, unlike most of their domestic competitors.
