The Premier League season may still be a few weeks away, but it looks like Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata will hit the ground running this time around.
The lanky Spaniard, who joined the Blues for a club-record fee of £60 million last year, didn’t have the best debut season in the English top-flight, ending the 2017-18 campaign with 15 goals in 48 appearances (all competitions).
Not the worst figures for a centre-forward, but if one considers the sensational start he had to life at Stamford Bridge and the barren stretches that followed, the 25-year-old can be considered an expensive flop.
However, the former Juventus and Real Madrid striker still has age on his side and he’s clearly putting in the hard yards right now so as to reap handsomely when the new season starts:
For those wondering what shoes Morata is wearing, they are a pair of limited edition Adidas Luna Predator boots.
And while pictures and videos of all Chelsea players, not involved at the World Cup, raining have been doing the rounds all week, one person conspicuous by his absence in all social media spots is embattled coach Antonio Conte.

According to reports coming in from Italy, Conte’s sacking is imminent, with Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri set to replace him in the dugout.
Despite winning the Premier League in his debut season and the FA Cup in the last campaign, Conte has never been popular with owner Roman Abramovich and he’s repeatedly clashed with the management over transfer dealings.

Still, it’s good to see the Blues player maintain their professionalism despite virtually having no first-team coach to oversee proceedings.
