Vijay Hazare Trophy: Karnataka beat Saurashtra by 41 runs

Karnataka beat Saurashtra by 41 runs in the final of Vijay Hazare Trophy at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi, on Tuesday. This is the third time when Karnataka had won the trophy. However, Saurashtra is still looking for its maiden win.

Though Karnataka lost few early wickets in the form of skipper Karun Nair and KL Rahul, yet they managed to score 253. From Karnataka, Mayank Agarwal was the top scorer with 90 runs off 79 balls.

Agarwal shared a 136-run stand with Ravikumar Samarth (48). Apart from Agrawal, Pavan Deshpande scored 49 runs and Shreyas Gopal added 31 runs on the scoreboard.

Following the target of 253 runs, Saurashtra lost few early wickets in the form of SB Vyas, wicket-keeper Avi Barot and Dharmendrasinh Jadeja.

However, Saurashtra skipper Cheteshwar Pujara tried to steady the innings and scored 94 runs off 127 balls yet the damage was already done. The team was bowled out at the score of 212 runs with 21 balls remaining.
