The former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir is known for his aggression on the cricket ground. However, the cricketer is often regarded as the nicest guy when it comes to believing in the sportsmanship spirit.
Gautam Gambhir, who led Delhi squad in the final of Ranji, had to swallow a bitter taste of defeat after his side lost to Vidarbha on day four by nine wickets in the finale of Ranji Trophy at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore.
Even though the defeat was disappointing for the Delhi lad, yet the cricketer took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to write a congratulatory message to the winning team. On one side Vidarbha won its maiden Ranji Trophy, on the other hand, Gautam Gambhir won the hearts of cricket fans with his message.
“Well done Vidarbha on winning the Ranji Trophy. I can tell you from experience that there will be fewer better days than this one. Congrats @faizfazal U guys deserve it all as u had consistency in ur corner @BCCI @BCCIdomestic @faizfazal,” Gautam Gambhir wrote from his official Twitter handle.

Not only Gambhir congratulated the players of Vidarbha for their win but he also appreciated Delhi’s performance and wrote, “Proud of the way my entire group, Delhi played the season. No shame in being second to a better team in Vidarbha. Let’s learn from the past n plan for the future but be proud of ur self…very proud @BCCI @BCCIdomestic.”

Other than Gautam Gambhir, a number of other current and veteran cricketers too took it to the micro-blogging site to hail Vidarbha’s maiden Ranji Trophy win.

Congratulations to each and every member of the Vidarbha Ranji Team on winning the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy.

Delighted that Vidarbha has won its first Ranji Trophy title. Further proof of the deepening decentralization of Indian cricket. Last year Gujarat won its first title. When I was young it was only Bombay, Bombay, Bombay, Bombay…
