Star Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) goalkeeper Alphonse Areola has now shifted base to Real Madrid with his name being registered to La Liga database, as reported by Marca.

The French International will join Madrid from PSG on a year-long loan in return of Keylor Nevas. It is worth highlighting that Areola underwent his medical examinations in the previous weekend and will be a useful option in the Real Madrid squad along with somebody like Thibaut Courtois.

The 26-year-old player already has an experience of featuring in the La Liga setup, having defended Villarreal’s goal in the 2015-16 season. He featured in as many as 37 games and conceded 32 goals. Impressive figures with Villarreal had ensured that he moved to PSG. Thereafter he has been donning the PSG kit over the last three years.

However, he has failed to cement his place in the starting XI and the arrival of Keylor Navas in Paris hinted that he was again being pushed as a backup option.

After interacting with Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, Areola agreed to the loan move to Real. However, he should be aware that getting match time might still be difficult at Real Madrid.

Areola is currently part of his national squad and is expected to join his new club after the international break.
