Pakistan suffered their first series whitewash at home as they lost to England in the third and final match of the series at National Stadium, Karachi on Tuesday. With the embarrassing 3-0 defeat against England, Pakistan is now almost out of the race for World Test Championship Finals.
Now, that Pakistani team have only three Test matches left in this year’s cycle, even if they win them all, they’ll only reach up to 54.76 per cent. But there will still be two teams ahead of them in the cycle.
The Australian side, who are the table toppers are currently sitting at the top with 75 points. The Kangaroos still have 7 Test matches left in their cycle. Just 2 wins and 1 draw will ensure that they are well above 54.76 per cent.
South Africa, which is present at the second position in the points table with 60 per cent just needs 28 more points. Two wins and a draw from their five remaining Tests will ensure that the Proteas stay above Pakistan.
On the other hand, team India who have 52.08 points as of now need 44 more points to make sure that they are beyond the margin of 54.76 per cent. The men in blue still have six Tests to play and they need to win at least 3 and draw 2 of them.
