Suryakumar nominated T20i Cricketer of the Year, Arshdeep Emerging Cricketer

The International Cricket Council has announced the nomination of India’s star batter Suryakumar Yadav for the T20i cricketer of the year under the men’s category.

The World Number 1 T20i batsman Suryakumar had an exceptional 2022, as he became the second batter to score more than 1000 runs in a year in the shortest format with his 360-degree strokeplay.

He concluded 2022 as the highest run-getter as he scored 1164 runs at an amazing strike rate of 187.43, averaging 46.56.

The other three names who are nominated for t20i cricketer of the year in Men’s category are all-rounder Sam Curran, Zimbabwe’s off-spin all-rounder Sikandar Raza and Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan.

Moreover, India’s left-arm pacer and rising star Arshdeep Singh has been nominated by the ICC for Emerging Player of the year. The 23-year-old has already become an integral part of India’s bowling line up.

He had a phenomenal year as he played 21 T20Is for India and clinched 33 wickets at a magical economy of 8.17, proving to be dangerous in Powerplay and death-over situations.

Other players who are nominated for the same category are South Africa’s left arm spearhead Macro Jansen, Afghanistan’s opener Ibrahim Zadran and New Zealand’s star opener Finn Allen.
