Dutee in July created history by winning gold medal in women’s 100-metre sprint at the 2019 Summer University Games in Naples, Italy as she became the first Indian to achieve the feat.
It took Dutee 11.32 seconds to complete the sprint and bag the first-ever yellow for India at the Summer Universiade. No Indian had qualified for the 100-metre final in the history of the University Games before this.
The 23-year-old athlete, who holds the national record in the women’s 100-metre event, is preparing for the World Championships scheduled to begin on 27 September in Doha.
