Former BCCI president Shashank Manohar deferred his decision to quit as the International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman and has agreed to hold the post till the completion of the board's resolution on governance and revenue sharing model.
“ICC Chairman Shashank Manohar has today agreed to defer his recent resignation following an ICC Board resolution to request him to remain in post was passed with overwhelming support earlier this week,” the executive board said in a statement on Friday.
ICC further stated that it asked him to withdraw his resignation or at least defer it until the ongoing process of restructuring the body’s functioning is completed.
The 59-year-old had resigned from the position on March 15, citing “personal reasons”.
