Sachin Tendulkar crosses 30M followers on Twitter

Former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar crossed 30 million followers on Twitter.

On Friday, the batting legend took the same medium to thank his followers which helped him reach the milestone.

Tendulkar wrote: “So so happy with all the ❤ and support shown by each and everyone of you over the years. Our Family is now 30M strong. Thank You! (sic)”

Tendulkar has more than 28 million followers on Facebook and 16.4 million followers on Instagram.

Master Blaster, who played for India from 1989 to 2013, amassed 18,426 runs in 463 ODIs and 15,927 runs in 200 Tests. Combining Tests, ODIs and T20Is, Sachin has 34,357 runs — highest by any batsman at international level.

Notably, Tendulkar is the only batsman in the world with 100 international centuries (51 in Tests and 49 in ODIs) against his name.

In 2010, Tendulkar became the first batsman to score a double hundred in ODIs. He scored 200 not out off just 147 balls against South Africa at Gwalior. His blitzkrieg included 25 boundaries and 3 sixes.

Talking about the match, batting first India posted a mammoth 401 runs on the board in their stipulated quota of 50 overs. Chasing the target, South Africa could manage only 248 runs before getting bundled up. India won the match by 153 runs.
