Portugal football star Cristiano Ronaldo on Saturday returned to resume his training with Serie A champions Juventus FC. This was his first day of the pre-season training period in Maurizio Sarri era.

Before their campaign this season, forward Cristiano Ronaldo and their midfielder Blaise Matuidi had to undergo physical testing at the Turin based medical centre of the club.

Notably, the new manager of Juventus, Maurizio Sarri, who was appointed the coach after Massimiliano Allegri’s term was over, was in charge of the training for the first time on Wednesday.

A key challenge before the coach would be to decide Ronaldo’s best role in the Playing XI, given his preference for a 4-3-3 formation.

The former Real Madrid star player has scored 28 goals in all the competitions that he featured in for the club. He was also involved in 10 assists.

Although the Italian club managed to win Scudetto, they could not go past the quarter-final stages of the Coppa Italia.

During the month of June, Netherlands defender De Ligt revealed that the Portugal star had inquired whether he wanted to play for Juventus in the Portugal-Netherland in 2019 UEFA Nations League final.

Portugal went on to beat Netherlands 1-0 to emerge as the tournament’s first ever champions.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo will look to win more titles with his club this year. Although he has individually done brilliantly for his club, in the big leagues, they somehow have not managed to win the high-pressure matches.

Ahead of a fresh season, Juventus FC would like to rectify just that.
