Real Madrid’s President Florentino Perez said on Wednesday that he expects to bolster the squad with strong new signings in the summer transfer window, while speaking at the presentation of new defender Alvaro Odriozola.

The Champions League title-holders are looking to rebuild after the departure of superstar forward Cristiano Ronaldo and the retirement of head coach Zinedine Zidane, who was replaced by Julen Lopetegui last month, reports Efe.

“This is a great squad that’s going to be reinforced with some outstanding players,” Perez said during Odriozola’s presentation at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

“We are aware of the level of demands on this team each season. We are Real Madrid and we always want more. Every title is a first step in the search for new victories, that’s why we have to build the present and strengthen the future,” he added.

Perez also pointed out that Real Madrid are witnessing “one of the best times” in their history, full of great titles and institutional and financial strength, as well as a global fan base of millions.
