India’s HS Prannoy has regained his career-best ranking in the updated Badminton World Federation rankings. The badminton star had a spectacular run throughout 2022 and eventually got rewarded with the highest ranking of 8th spot in the world rankings.

Prannoy scripted India’s maiden Thomas Cup win. He has been constantly playing career-defining games from the word go. The star shuttler was the only Indian to feature in the BWF World Cup Final Tour.

He ended his tour by defeating World’s no. 1, Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in his 3rd and also the final match of Group A men’s singles match. The Badminton Association of India, in a tweet, shared this news, “The Beast on his career-high rank. Congratulations @PRANNOYHSPRI.”

Notably, Prannoy was also awarded with the prestigious ‘Arjuna Award’ by the Indian Government last month.

However, Lakshya Sen remains India’s highest Ranked Shuttler in Men’s Single category. He is currently ranked 7th on the list.

Moreover, Viktor Axelsen of Denmark is at the top most spot in the list while Zii Jia of Malaysia remains second, just after Victor.

Meanwhile, in the women’s singles category, India’s star Shuttler PV Sindhu has slipped one position to settle at number seven. He has been out of action for the past few months as she sustained an ankle injury and is still recovering.
