Star Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic feels former Manchester United teammate Paul Pogba has answered his skeptics with his impressive performance at the just-concluded World Cup, helping France lift the trophy for the second time.

“I played with him for two years and people like to give their opinion, which they have the right to do,” the Swede was quoted as saying by espnfc.

“They judge but I think the result speaks for itself.

Pogba scored a crucial goal in the final against Croatia as France won 4-2 besides producing stellar shows during the tournament.

Pogba was heavily criticised before the World Cup for his underwhelming show for Man United in the English Premier League (EPL).

“You don’t need to answer by your mouth, you can answer by your feet, and do what you are good at. That is the way it is supposed to be and the way I like to do it,” Ibrahimovic said.

“He is young. He won the World Cup, he was in the Champions League final (with Juventus), the Europa League final (with United), the European (Championship) final (with France) — and he won many titles at Juventus.

“What more is there to say? Just enjoy the games and I know he will become better.”

Pogba is likely to be rested for the initial few games this season as manager Jose Mourinho has said he would not play World Cup players from the beginning.
