The 16-time Grand Slam and 9-times Australian Open winner, Novak Djokovic, is all set to make a comeback at the Australian Open next month.
The Serbian megastar has recently expressed his hope that he will receive a warm welcome as he will return to the Australian Open leaving behind a long controversy of his vaccination status and his deportation from Australia.
Notably, the 9-time Australian Open champion was not allowed to compete in the Open Grand Slam of 2022 as he was deported from Australia due to his Anti-Vax statements and controversies.
Eventually, he was also banned from entering Australia but now there is some turn of events. In the recent move, Djokovic is now allowed to not just enter Australia but also to participate in the Australian Open scheduled for the upcoming month.
The 35 years old Novak Djokovic will get a chance to win his 10th Australian Open Title. He now also has an opportunity to equal a men’s record of having 22nd major crown overall.
On Friday, Djokovic told the reporters at World Tennis League that he has been very fortunate over the years to start very strongly in Australia, and he loves playing there. He further said that whatever happened last year he is now hopeful that he will get a good welcome there and he can play some good games.
