It is a known fact that Zlatan Ibrahimovic loves attention and wants to be in the headlines. He has certainly done that once again when he was asked to comment on who he thinks to be the world’s best player. Although many legends and pundits alike have chosen between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, Zlatan had a different pick.
The Swede named Kylian Mbappe as the world’s best player because of his terrific ability to perform on the pitch like he has been doing and that too at just the age of 20 years old.
“He is the difference-maker,” Ibrahimovic was quoted as saying by AS.
“He is still young and we hope that he continues to work hard. Despite his age he is already a star. I hope he keeps his hunger and that he doesn’t fall out of love with football so that he can keep improving and achieving things. To do so, he has to keep a cool head, which isn’t always easy,” he added.
Even earlier, Zlatan had picked the Brazilian star Ronaldo Nazario and stated that he was the one everyone looked up to and wanted to copy.
“When he (Ronaldo Nazario) was playing, we all tried to copy him. He had such an elegant style of play. I used to watch his games but I don’t so much anymore. Right now my favourite is perhaps Mbappé, who stands out above all the rest,” he said.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen which team Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be playing for next although it is being speculated that he would feature in the Serie A.
