After a couple of good seasons with PSV, Hirving Lozano has now changed bases and will play for the Serie A side Napoli. The deal has been completed by Napoli for a reported fee for an estimated €40million.
Lozano had spent a couple of impressive seasons in the Eredivisie where he scored 34 goals for PSV across two seasons. He also had a good run in the Champions League in the last season.
The 24-year-old forward featured for Mexico at FIFA 2018 World Cup and netted a memorable goal in his team’s 1-0 win over Germany in the group stages of the tournament.
Lozano, whose name was being linked to Premier League side Manchester United, has now been bagged by Serie A team Napoli who have reportedly paid a club record-breaking fee of an estimated €40 million and bonuses which could be worth another €2 million.
Before the official announcement by the club, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis had shared an image featuring Lozano signing the contract. The official announcement was made on Friday.
Napoli will begin their Serie A campaign against Fiorentina on Saturday.
