Indian opener Rohit Sharma on Sunday shared some inspiring words in his attempt to lift people up amid the ongoing crisis caused by the novel coronavirus.
Taking to his official Twitter timeline, Rohit Sharma admitted that the human race is going through an extremely difficult time but said it is a way for mother earth to heal herself.
He said, “Through these extremely difficult and dangerous times, Mother Earth has found a way to heal. Our planet has shown us what a difference a lifestyle change can make even in a short amount of time. We always wondered if it was too late to combat climate change but Mother Earth has shown us that we can reverse it and help her heal if we all do it together.”
“Through these testing times India has seen a major drop in its air and noise pollution levels, Venice has dolphins playing in their harbours, boars running around their streets, Rome has swans in their fountains and the pollution levels have dropped all over the world! This is the world we need to protect,” he added.
The COVID-19 pandemic, which has already killed over 13,000 people and affected more than 3,08,500 people worldwide, infected more than 340 people in India with seven casualties.
In an attempt to prevent the spread of the deadly virus, the Indian Government decided to impose a ‘Janata Curfew’ on Sunday from 7 AM to 9 PM to avoid mass gatherings and stop people from going out.
Earlier, Rohit Sharma had expressed his concern over the deadly outbreak of the novel coronavirus and asked people to adopt all the preventative measures to fight the contagious disease.
